Job summary

Beyond Reach Labs in New York designs and builds the largest deployable structures for space, driving innovation in deployable architecture for spacecraft.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design, analyze, and validate mechanical systems and actuators for deployable structures, creating CAD models and analysis reports, and delivering production-ready design packages for testing and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 6+ months of experience outside the classroom.
• Experience designing and qualifying mechanisms driven by stepper or BLDC motors, springs, and HDRMs.
• Proficient in developing design models and drawings for production and analysis using CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems for deployable structures.
• Create and iterate CAD models, material/lubrication selections, assembly processes, and test methods.
• Conduct classical and FEA analysis for static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue loads.
