Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, MD is seeking a Spring 2027 Test Engineer Intern to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience in electronics test engineering for satellites, UAVs, and aerospace systems inside a fast-paced startup-like environment.

As an intern, you will work in the electronics lab on test plans, assemble test setups, log data, verify results, and support quality control activities. Strong communication and collaboration are essential as you engage with engineers and mentors

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in engineering at an accredited institution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and improve test processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, share ideas, and contribute to collective goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in process documentation and quality control activities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the test engineering team to execute tests in the electronics lab, such as functional testing, digital signal integrity verification, or power converter control loop measurements.
• Work with test architectures and test systems, including equipment selection, test fixtures, data logging methodology, and interfaces.
• Assemble complex test setups, working with design engineers and technicians.
• Executing tests at the prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues by applying engineering principles and problem-solving skills.
• Collect and analyze data from test processes to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Assist in quality control activities, including inspections, testing, and root cause analysis for non-conforming products.
