Job summary

Blue Origin in Grandview, Missouri is seeking a hands-on manufacturing technician to assist engineers in building prototypes, EDUs, and qualification hardware, and to perform testing and troubleshooting. You will interpret drawings, operate precision tools, and contribute to DFMA feedback and root-cause analysis.

Relocation assistance is available, and travel up to 10% of time may be required. The role supports safety, quality, and mission assurance.

Qualifications

• H.S Diploma and 3-5 years experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of basic manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, welding, composites, etc.)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, torque tools, wire harness fabrication)
• Familiarity with data acquisition hardware and test instrumentation
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in building prototypes, engineering development units (EDUs), and qualification hardware.
• Assist engineers in conducting experiments, tests, and evaluations.
• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems and components.
• Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on hardware, systems, or equipment.
• Provide hands-on feedback on design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA), and Support root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations.
• Ensure work is performed and documented in compliance with applicable standards and procedures. Support audits, design reviews, and test readiness reviews (TRRs).
