Job summary

Axiom Space seeks a resilient Platform Engineer (AWS Cloud) to design, build, and operate AWS-first infrastructure. You will drive automation, IaC, and platform reliability while supporting Azure workloads.

You will escalate complex issues and help advance cyber security initiatives under senior IT leadership. You will implement Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud governance, ensuring secure, scalable platforms for engineering teams and business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Science, or Engineering Management
• 4+ years of experience in AWS production workloads
• Problem-solving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation) for AWS GovCloud environments
• Leads escalation for AWS platform architecture and systems design
• Builds CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for internal teams
• Administers AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC) and accounts
• Maintains containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) for workloads
• Manages IAM and SSO/SAML/SCIM integrations with least-privilege access
• Implements monitoring (CloudWatch) and disaster recovery
• Develops internal tooling for self-service AWS access
• Supports Azure/Microsoft 365 workloads when needed
• Communicates progress to stakeholders and leadership
