Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will work on space exploration hardware, analyzing requirements and delivering design solutions.

The role emphasizes CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, and fabrication drawings, with opportunities to contribute to NASA flight hardware drawings and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 5–10 years related experience.
• BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience producing drawings to ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with tolerance analyses incl. thermal effects and GD&T.
• Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing).
• Experience with structural and thermal analyses.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design evaluations.
• Analyze requirements and develop design solutions in a team environment.
• Design, develop, test, analyze, and implement technical products and systems.
• Produce engineering drawings conforming to applicable standards.
• Perform dimensional tolerance analyses, including thermal effects and GD&T.
• Support design reviews and present at various design reviews.
• Produce other design documentation as required.
• Perform other reporting duties as required.
