Job summary

Starfish Space is seeking an embedded software engineer to help build core software technologies used across its Otter servicing spacecraft, including relative navigation, robotics, and grappling systems. You will contribute to high-performance, space-grade software that must operate reliably in harsh orbital environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on embedded software products.
• Experience creating HIL / PIL systems.
• Experience writing software for a variety of compute hardware and architectures.
• Working knowledge of Python and C++.
• Must be a US person due to ITAR regulations.
• Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington.
• Capable of working in a dynamic, fast paced startup environment.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or similar field.

Responsibilities

• Develop core software technologies for Starfish's satellite systems, including relative navigation, robotics, and grappling teams.
• Build software that controls key technologies enabling interaction with other spacecraft and actuating mechanisms.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure robust, space-grade software delivery.
