Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead panel and cable design, root cause analysis, and EGSE development across the full design lifecycle.

The position requires hands-on troubleshooting, expertise in analog, power and digital hardware, familiarity with lab test equipment, and a current TS/SCI clearance preferred; primary salary range $135,800.00–$203,600.00.

Responsibilities
  • Lead panel and cable design efforts, including electrical interconnects and schematics, while defining and maintaining acceptance criteria, certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting standards.
  • Own and drive root cause determination and problem resolution for complex technical issues, ensuring timely documentation, corrective actions, and lessons learned are captured and communicated.
  • Perform and oversee hands‑on integration, checkout, and troubleshooting of test equipment builds in a lab environment, including electrical/continuity checks and functional testing, ensuring compliance with program and safety requirements.
  • Serve as a primary interface with subsystem test engineers, test operators, technicians, systems administrators, security team, and vendors to coordinate and support various test set tasks, resolve conflicts, and maintain alignment with schedule and technical objectives.
  • Lead the full design cycle of EGSE, from initial concept development and trade studies through detailed design, fabrication, integration, and test, including support to design reviews.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to early career engineers and technicians, fostering skill development, promoting best practices, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • OR PhD in a STEM field with 4+ years of relevant experience required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • Proficient with hands‑on troubleshooting with electrical hardware
  • Proficient with integrated (analog, power, digital) hardware design
  • Proficient with lab test equipment, such as DMMs, O‑Scopes, or related
  • Proficient with electrical design tools (e.g., Zuken, AutoCAD, PSpice)
  • Proficient in Test Automation Software (LabView, TCL, MatLab)
  • Active or Current TS/SCI Clearance preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
