Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our aerospace team in Lanham, MD. You will design, test, and support electrical harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems, collaborating with power, RF, and data handling teams to ensure seamless integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of industry experience or recent graduate with hands-on project experience.
• Knowledge of space environment and industry standards.
• Understanding harness design principles, cable routing, shielding, EMI/EMC considerations.
• Proficiency in CAD software for harness design (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, CATIA, Mentor Graphics).
• Experience with electrical simulation and analysis tools (SPICE, MATLAB).
• Internships, co-ops, or academic projects related to aerospace harness design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and support the integration of electrical harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, select wiring, connectors, back shells, and other harness components, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Develop and execute test plans to verify functionality, reliability, and performance of electrical harness systems.
• Analyze test data and troubleshoot issues to meet design requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation including interface control documents, system schematics, and harness drawings.
• Work with power, RF, data handling, and other subsystems to ensure seamless integration.
