Job summary

Wardstone in California is seeking engineering interns to work on real-world systems from concept to testing. Interns will be treated as engineers and collaborate with founders and full-time engineers on flight hardware, simulations, and field tests.

You will work on physics-based simulations, hardware prototyping, embedded software, sensor systems, and data analysis while pursuing a degree in engineering or physics. US Person or Lawful Permanent Resident status required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated delivery on previous extracurricular engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on physics-based simulation and modeling (orbital mechanics, intercept dynamics, guidance & control).
• Assist with hardware prototyping and testing (mechanical, electrical, propulsion, sensing).
• Contribute to embedded software, controls, or autonomy projects.
• Support sensor systems (IR / EO), perception, and tracking tasks.
• Analyze data from test campaigns to inform design decisions.
• Participate in system-level trade studies and design reviews.
