Job summary

Cherokee Strategic Solutions, LLC (CSS) supports federal clients and partners with engineering and construction services at Schriever Space Force Base. The Construction Manager will oversee the project lifecycle, coordinate with government personnel and contractors, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and schedules.

Ideal candidates have five years of relevant experience, knowledge of federal codes, and proficiency with AutoCAD and project-management tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management or construction technology.
• At least five years of extensive construction and/or contract-related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, and cost-estimating practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical construction-management support from project inception through design coordination, construction execution, field surveying, closeout, and final as-built review.
• Develop project requirement packages by identifying functional and technical requirements, defining schedule milestones, and preparing independent Government cost estimates.
• Review and analyze contractor submittals, shop drawings, material data, Requests for Information, and material proposals.
• Provide technical recommendations for Government consideration on contractor submittals and other project documentation.
• Conduct construction progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders during active construction.
• Perform construction surveillance and evaluate contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, quality requirements, and safety standards.
• Interpret design documents in the field and provide recommendations to resolve issues.
• Review contractor progress reports and payment requests and provide technical recommendations to the Government.
• Review final as-built drawing packages and verify project-closeout documentation.
