Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Post Baccalaureate Student to join the Space Data & Software Systems Group (ISR-3) and contribute to space and ground-based programs. You will participate in software development, data processing pipelines, and deployment infrastructure within a secure, collaborative environment.

The position emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to operate in a classified setting while building experience across software engineering and data

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with C/C++ and/or Python.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of SVN, Git, or Mercurial.
• Ability to work closely with scientific teams and build effective relationships.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field; eligibility within the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software development and systems engineering for space mission operations.
• Develop and maintain data processing software, pipelines, and deployment infrastructure.
• Work in a classified environment with emphasis on security.
• Collaborate with ISR-3 and the Data Processing Tools & Management team to support ground-based processing of telemetry.
