Overview

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified individual to serve as a Space and Cyber Range Architect, SME. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented team dedicated to advancing mission success.

Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC will provide contractor support as a Space and Cyber Range Architect to the Space Systems Command (SSC), System Delta (SYD) 81 Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Program Office, supporting the Live and Physical Range Cyber Range Section. The role involves designing scalable range architectures, integrating cyber and space mission systems, supporting live and physical training capabilities, and ensuring the range environment supports operational testing and realistic training scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

The Space And Cyber Range Architect, SME Will:

  • Design and develop end‑to‑end cyber range environments, including on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud‑based architectures
  • Develop network topologies that replicate enterprise, tactical, and operational environments for realistic training and testing
  • Architect and implement virtualized and containerized infrastructures to support flexible and scalable range operations
  • Define range segmentation, isolation, and security boundaries to ensure secure and controlled testing environments
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical documentation supporting system design and implementation
  • Design and integrate realistic adversary emulation capabilities to support cyber operations training and testing
  • Integrate red team and blue team tools within the cyber range environment
  • Support cyber exercise scripting, scenario development, and training event design
  • Optimize cyber range environments to support multiple concurrent users and complex training exercises
  • Ensure systems and infrastructure are scalable to support large‑scale operational exercises
  • Translate mission and operational requirements into technical architecture solutions
  • Collaborate with training developers, cyber operators, engineers, and program managers to ensure mission alignment
  • Provide technical briefings and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders
  • Support technical evaluations of vendor and contractor proposals related to cyber range development
  • Plan and manage system upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, and software updates
  • Develop and maintain technology modernization and upgrade road maps for cyber range capabilities
Skills and Experience

The Space And Cyber Range Architect, SME Must Have:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • 15+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or projects, preferably in cyber operations, range architecture, or mission systems engineering
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, particularly in complex technical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Self‑motivated professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Proven ability to develop innovative technical solutions and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership
  • Ability to operate autonomously while maintaining strong coordination with team members and stakeholders

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high‑level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
