Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Security Officer to support access control and security operations at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. You will perform rounds, verify credentials, and help ensure safety of personnel and facilities in a high‑security environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining daily security logs, reporting incidents, assisting visitors, and supporting emergency responses. This role requires flexibility across shifts and a valid US driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred have previous customer service and/or security experience.
• Able to work all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) on weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid US Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Serving at a fixed access control point and/or making rounds on foot or by motor vehicle.
• Perform access control to critical facilities or processing areas by positive identification of personnel and confirmation of their possession of required credentials.
• Control access to hazardous operations through badge exchange to assure maximum personnel participation and emergency accountability.
• Communicates emergency situations to First Responders and security management.
• Observe and report violations of laws, regulations, policies, or procedures.
• Maintains comprehensive daily security logs.
• Completes detailed Security Incident Reports.
• Assists visitors and customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
