Job summary

The Laura Hotel in Houston's Downtown invites applicants for a spa esthetician role responsible for facial and waxing services, client consultations, and maintaining a serene treatment environment.

Bring a valid cosmetology/esthetician license and at least two years of esthetics experience; exceptional guest service and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• License required: cosmetology or esthetician.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years esthetics experience.
• Knowledge of esthetic techniques, equipment, services, and products.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a professional, friendly manner.
• Review intake forms and select appropriate spa treatments.
• Perform spa treatments within training and draping protocols.
• Complete accurate client intake notes.
• Provide a therapeutic, high-quality guest experience.
• Educate on wellness benefits and service frequency.
• Protect client information and maintain confidentiality.

YesDiscretionary Performance Bonus Eligible? NoOverviewResponsible for performing all esthetic services (including all facials and waxing services) for guests and members of the Spa. Responsible for communicating and transcribing all information regarding guest medical history, services performed, skin analysis and product recommendations into the Spa Computer System.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet guests and members in a professional, friendly manner.Select the appropriate spa treatments based on the client’s needs after reviewing the client intake form with each guest.Perform spa treatments within the scope of training and utilizing draping protocols.Complete accurate and legible client intake notes.Create an excellent experience for guests and members through a therapeutic touch and friendly attitude.Promote the health and wellness benefits of spa treatments specific to each client and recommend frequency of services.Safeguard client information and confidentiality.Execute professional boundaries and do not engage in dual relationships with clients.Maintain a professional clean appearance of self and clinic by wearing a clean and pressed uniform, following the table dressing and draping protocols, and keeping the therapy room clean.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications and SkillsCurrent state cosmetology or Esthetician’s license.High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of two years’ experience in esthetics.In-depth knowledge of the latest esthetic industry techniques, equipment, services, and products.Willing to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.Customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients, clinic management, fellow therapists, and sales staff.Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push carts up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.Good dexterity in fingers, wrists, and hands with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to stand and move throughout spa and continuously perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
