Job description

Reporting to the Supervisor, Spa Services, the Spa Room Specialist is responsible for guiding guests through their spa experience while ensuring all service and facility standards are met. Demonstrates a passion for people, encouraging and inspiring guests to elevate their health and beauty, while creating a memorable best in class guest and safety experience. Responsible for ensuring operational excellence while providing a clean and safe environment for all guests, team members and vendors, while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity. Supports a variety of spa/salon services, ensuring the utmost hospitality and assisting service providers by using their service expertise proving that they are an integral part of our winning team. Outgoing, motivated and capable of adapting to change in a fast-paced service driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greets all guests and provide guests with personal, gracious, and professional service perceptive to their individual wants and needs, at all times. Offers guests a detailed tour and orientation of the spa/salon and amenities and assist them as needed during their visit, including ensuring that they are on time for their appointments.
  • Familiarizes guests with the locker room experience, salon-grooming area, fitness care amenities and provides all appropriate spa accoutrements to guest.
  • Assists in the preparation of rooms and tools for scheduled treatments, as necessary. Ensures proper set-up and cleanliness of the treatment rooms including sanitizing according to the approved sanitizing procedures. (15%)
  • Replenishes treatment products in treatment and dispensary areas and removes any items left behind by guests such as towels and robes, as needed. Ensures all areas are well stocked and ensures a high quality presentation of these items in preparation for the arrival of the next guest.
  • Ensures the locker room is fully equipped and all items are ready for guest use; including ensuring that individual guest lockers are compliant with locker room standards and expectations.
  • Creates a “Guest for Life” by providing each guest with the highest quality experience through personalized service by exhibiting a genuine sense of concern for the guest comfort and safety.
  • Models and upholds enterprise and department policies and procedures as well as standard operating procedures. Ensures day-to-day operations including product receiving, fulfillment, training/certification requirements, and compliance in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED is required. Minimum one (1) year of experience in customer service is required. Previous experience in a luxury spa or salon environment is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required. Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction. Must be able to provide a genuine and sincere service experience in a friendly and professional manner. Must have demonstrated ability exercising utmost discretion with confidential information including, but not limited to: personal and/or health information from guests. An innate ability to communicate one-on-one with guests to provide optimal and intuitive service. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management, both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task or handle multiple guests in a fast-paced, high demand environment is required. Working knowledge of spa services and products is preferred. Must have demonstrated experience working under pressure while meeting deadlines and goals. Must be comfortable working in both spa and casino environment. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under challenging situations. Must be willing to assist fellow team members with daily operations to support and contribute to the success of the spa. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone. Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone. Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke. Reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with all applicable law.
