Job summary

Skaneateles Fields Resort & Spa in New York’s Finger Lakes region is seeking a Spa Director to lead all aspects of the resort’s spa and wellness operations, from guest experiences to programming and financial performance.

The Spa Director will shape the guest journey and wellness strategy, manage a high-end team, oversee service protocols, budgets, scheduling, and cross-department collaboration to ensure a serene, elevated guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a luxury spa, wellness, or hospitality environment.
• Proven track record in spa operations, team development, and guest satisfaction.
• Strong business acumen and experience managing departmental budgets and KPIs.
• Passion for wellness and familiarity with spa trends, holistic therapies, and wellness programming.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of spa management software preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all spa operations, including treatment rooms, retail, locker areas, and relaxation spaces.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management of spa staff and wellness practitioners.
• Create service protocols, guest experience standards, and daily operational procedures.
• Process payments, track retail sales, and manage daily spa reporting.
• Manage spa scheduling, therapist utilization, and treatment flow.
• Develop and implement wellness programs, seasonal specials, and signature offerings.
• Monitor guest feedback and ensure consistent five-star service delivery.
• Collaborate with resort leadership on cross-departmental programming and marketing initiatives.
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and feedback in a calm, professional manner.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, vendor partnerships, and spa budget performance.
• Maintain spa licensing, safety, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
