Job summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst within the Chief Accounting Officer’s Group to ensure effective design and operation of internal control over financial reporting in line with SOX requirements. You will document processes, assess risks, and identify control enhancements while interfacing with management and auditors.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of related work experience, comprising of previous SOX experience in public accounting, consulting or corporate internal audit and demonstrated understanding of processes/accounting in the banking/financial services sector preferred.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting; CPA or CIA preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with strong organizational abilities and multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners to maintain SOX risk and control matrices and process flowcharts.
• Facilitate the annual SOX walkthrough and SOC1 process with business partners and internal and external audit.
• Assist with corporate initiatives through risk assessment and control evaluation related to new accounting standards and system implementations.
• Analyze control exceptions and work with management to identify remediation paths.
• Support audit groups including internal and external audit in planning and completing their engagements.
• Provide education and training to business partners on SOX control requirements.
