Job summary

Wintrust Financial Corporation is seeking a SOX/ICFR-focused professional to design and operate internal controls in our Chief Accounting Officer’s Group. You will document processes, assess risk, and help identify control enhancements while partnering with management, auditors, and system owners.

You will lead SOX walkthroughs, assist with new accounting standards, and drive remediation of control issues in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
• CPA or CIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners to maintain SOX risk and control matrices and process flowcharts.
• Identify areas where control or documentation enhancements are needed.
• Facilitate the annual SOX walkthrough and SOC1 process with partners and auditors.
• Assist with risk assessment and control evaluation for new accounting standards/systems.
• Analyze control exceptions and work with management on remediation paths.
• Support internal and external auditors in planning and completing engagements.
• Provide training on SOX control requirements to partners.
