Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Platform Engineer in Seattle to build and operate enterprise-scale data platforms. You will migrate data, troubleshoot database and streaming issues, and automate platform operations with Python and IaC tooling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Platform Engineer with strong experience in NoSQL databases, Databricks, Kafka, SQL databases, data migration, and platform reliability, along with solid programming skills and a strong software engineering mindset.

This is a hands-on production role involving building and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms, performing migrations, troubleshooting complex database and streaming issues, automating platform operations, and participating in on-call support.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and support enterprise-scale Cassandra / NoSQL database platforms
• Create and configure database tables, schemas, users, roles, and access
• Build and configure databases and database environments from scratch
• Support cloud-managed database platforms
• Troubleshoot production database, streaming, and platform issues
• Perform Cassandra administration, upgrades, patching, scaling, replication, and performance tuning
• Design and execute data migrations between source and target environments
• Configure source/target connectivity, Kafka topics, database connections, and migration workflows
• Validate migrations using record counts, reconciliation, errors, latency, throughput, consistency, and application validation
• Build automation and platform tooling using Python or another programming language.
• Support Kafka-based data streaming and troubleshoot producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and connectivity
• Work deeply with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, and large-scale data processing
• Support and troubleshoot SQL database platforms
• Automate platform provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operational activities
• Build automation using Terraform, CI/CD, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability
• Participate in production on-call support, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Improve platform reliability, availability, scalability, and operational efficiency

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $39.30/hour - $61.40/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
