Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Systems Development Engineer to manage and automate Google-scale infrastructure, focusing on observability and reliability. You will build tools that reduce toil, instrument systems, and turn data into actionable knowledge.

You will support United States Government customers, mentor team members, participate in on-call rotations, and craft reliable tools to bring Google Cloud closer to mission-critical data generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IT.
• 5 years of automation, and systems design/implementation.
• Experience scripting in Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, Perl or Bash.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain internal systems and customer portals.
• Support services before go-live via system design consulting and frameworks.
• Maintain services post-launch by monitoring availability and health.
• Scale systems through automation and reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues with engineering teams.
