Primary Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity to lead the growth, direction, and quality of the Water Business Groups Southwest Region Pump Station and Pipelines Business Class. This key leadership role partners with top water professionals and leads significant infrastructure projects in the region.

The Regional Business Class Leader (BCL) is a professional experienced in all aspects of Business Class services for pump stations and pipeline projects. The role involves managing a team of business class professionals, overseeing large-scale projects with technical complexity, building client relations, and participating in project development, including planning, design, inspection, and construction management of water infrastructure.

As a Business Class Leader, you will contribute to the technical advancement and corporate management of HDR’s national pump station and pipeline business class program, sharing work across HDR’s network.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop Technical Leadership and Best Practices: Lead the development and improvement of technical capabilities, integrating national expertise into local projects, supporting training, and quality control activities.
  • Promote Program Growth and Development: Drive growth initiatives, develop BC-specific goals, and enhance visibility through participation in conferences and technical events. Collaborate with market sector leaders, marketing, and operations teams on regional business strategies.
  • Deliver Projects/Programs: Lead professional teams, manage workload and staffing, oversee technical delivery, and serve as a senior technical advisor and mentor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience leading projects and teams focused on pump stations and pipelines.
  • Proven project delivery management skills, including scope, schedule, budget, and team motivation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic growth abilities.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in training program development, workload management, marketing, proposal writing, and budgeting.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Architecture, etc.).
  • At least 10 years of related experience.
  • Professional registration (e.g., PE) and technical expertise.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and collaborating across regions.
  • Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.
