Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a Planning Practice Lead for the Southwest Region to join our team in Albuquerque, NM or El Paso, TX. You will lead a growing planning team, build client relationships, win work, and manage projects across multiple states.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in transportation planning, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage budgets and schedules while mentoring staff and coordinating with federal, state, local and tribal clients.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, or related discipline.
• AICP or PE certification preferred.
• 10+ years leading a professional planning team.
• 10+ years’ experience in transportation, land use, and multimodal planning.
• 10+ years’ experience managing planning projects for federal, state, local and/or tribal clients.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor staff, develop and maintain a leadership pipeline, and allocate resources.
• Serve as Senior Project Manager for a variety of planning projects and clients.
• Oversee and coordinate work to meet accuracy, quality, and client expectations.
• Communicate directly with federal, state, local, tribal, and private industry clients.
• Mentor and train staff, ensure resources to accomplish goals.
• Represent Wilson & Company at professional meetings and industry events.
• Collaborate with regional and national managers on company goals and client development.
