(T&M) has been one of the largest distributors of natural stone slab and tile, quartz surfacing, and a manufacturer of poured-in-place terrazzo and resinous flooring. The Southwest Commercial A & D Rep is responsible for presenting Terrazzo & Marble Supply Company products to the architectural, engineering, and interior design community to grow and expand commercial terrazzo and epoxy resin flooring specifications and sales. In addition to driving specifications, the role will also work closely with the contractors who install our products, building close working relationships, driving sales with current accounts, and prospecting for new business. This position requires enthusiasm, creativity, aptitude, and an entrepreneurial spirit to drive success. Experience working directly with architects, engineers, and interior designers is .
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Generate and develop new business by presenting to architects, interior designers, engineers, and end users.
· Promote our products via educational seminars (AIA/IDCEC), in-office presentations, virtual presentations, and networking events.
· Keep respective CRM data up to date with activities, opportunities, and account ranking per company policy.
· Maintain, nurture, and grow relationships with clients and customers.
· Effectively plan and manage sales territory (time management).
· Respond to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
· Become proficient at communicating technical information.
· Continually gather information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the territory; communicate information to management and others as needed.
· Travel up to 40% to attend customer meetings and to participate in trade events and sales meetings.
· Territory to include areas of Texas from Houston South and all of Louisiana.
· Continual learning of the Architect & Designer industry and product needs to ensure territory success.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of industry-related education and experience.
· 3+ years of experience working directly with the A&D community (architects, engineers, and interior designers).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
· Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
· Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization
· Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
· Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
· Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
· Proficient with contact management systems, databases, the Internet, order processing, spreadsheets, and word processing.
· Past/current affiliation with AIA, IIDA, CSI, LEED is a plus
