Position Overview

Join our team at Kiewit Southeast District as a Regional Safety Manager in Orlando, FL. As part of our dynamic team, you will oversee safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment on our construction projects. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about safety, possesses strong leadership skills, and has a proven track record in managing safety programs in the construction industry.

District Overview

Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Since the 1970s, we have built projects from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana. Our operations include highways, airports, mass transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams and infrastructure work.

Responsibilities
  1. Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures.
  2. Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
  3. Monitor all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
  4. Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is also desired.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field (years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing safety programs in construction, specifically related to highway transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
