In the role of HDR Southeast Region Area Safety Manager, you will:
  1. Demonstrate expertise in managing the company's SH&E program regionally.
  2. Lead and manage SH&E staff supporting regional requirements in office and field environments.
  3. Collaborate with senior management to implement the SH&E program effectively.
  4. Facilitate SH&E training and conduct audits and inspections.
  5. Review Job Hazard Analyses and oversee behavior-based safety observations.
  6. Assess site conditions and contract requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as industry standards.
  7. Develop and maintain a comprehensive SH&E management system aligned with HDR policies.
  8. Support project safety managers and coordinators to ensure contractual compliance and safety plan implementation.
  9. Maintain technical proficiency in safety training and ensure safety compliance records are well-organized and up-to-date.
  10. Coordinate environmental sampling/testing and report non-compliance as required.
  11. Oversee waste reduction programs and ensure environmental compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
  • Experience in construction, mining, water infrastructure, DOT, Oil and Gas, or A&E sectors.
  • At least 5 years managing and leading safety teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Safety, Health, and Environmental fields.
  • Certifications such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHMM, CHST, or GSP.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
