Job summary

SEAACA seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Southeast Area Animal Control Authority in Downey, overseeing field operations, care center, veterinary clinic, and licensing programs.

The ED will report to the Board of Commissioners, guide the management team, develop policies, and align resources with SEAACA's mission while ensuring high-quality animal care and public service across 14 cities.

Job description

Southeast Area Animal Control Authority is seeking an Executive Director who will have full administrativeauthority and oversee the direction of SEAACA's operations including field, care center, veterinarian clinic,and licensing programs and services. The ED reports directly to the Board of Commissioners and leads themanagement team to shepherd SEAACA's resources and develop policies, operational priorities andstrategic projects. The ED will serve as the liaison between SEAACA and the public and ensure qualityanimal care and public services are provided in accordance with SEAACA's mission, goals, and board-drivenphilosophy.

With the support of their Board of Commissioners and dedicated staff, and in cooperation with the publicand rescue partners, SEAACA is committed to providing high-quality animal care and control to the 14 citiesthey serve. Across five divisions - Animal Health, Animal Care, Animal Control, Adoption & CommunityEngagement and Customer Service & Licensing – they deliver for animals and the people in theircommunities. From cats and dogs to snakes, roosters, rabbits, turtles and everything in between, theSEAACA team manages approximately 1,000 animal intakes a month. With an annual budget of $9M and75 authorized staff members, SEAACA serves a population of roughly 900,000.
