We are seeking a part-time cashier to join our team at our South Monroe Street location. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include:

1. Being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers.
2. Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
3. Understanding the Point of Sale (POS) system and handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, etc., following company policies.
4. Adhering to company limits on cash shortages and/or overages and working honestly to control loss.
5. Following guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Reporting pricing discrepancies to management.
7. Following policies for rewards programs, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Staying current with ads and promotions.
9. Maintaining food safety regulations and a clean work area.
10. Assisting with inventory management and restocking.
11. Following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
12. Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
13. Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
14. Complying with all laws and company guidelines.
15. Performing other duties such as stocking and cleaning as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. Ability to handle stressful situations
3. Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Preferred Skills:

1. Excellent customer service skills
2. Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
3. Experience with monetary transactions and customer service
4. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
