The Spinnerstown Hotel, a historic staple of Bucks and Lehigh Counties, is accepting resumes for the position of Sous Chef.

Superior Hospitality, a variety of atmospheres and dining settings, food sourced from local farms and businesses – we strive to create memorable experiences.

The right candidate will have 3+ years of management experience in a full-service restaurant with a thriving events business. This is a hands-on management position, cooking on the line with your team while training, developing, and supporting this valued staff.

Qualifications

  • Ability to cook on all stations and expedite
  • Experience in successful food cost management, inventory and purchasing
  • Effective interpersonal skills in communicating with customers, staff, owners, and suppliers – can handle tough situations with confidence and grace
  • Strong Leadership qualities
  • Ability to create, follow and teach recipes for quality and consistency
  • Creative and passionate about food and working with high quality ingredients, in a scratch kitchen
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and POS systems
  • Ability and willingness to learn the Spinnerstown Policies & Procedures and methods with enthusiasm and positivity

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversea and direct staff in the BOH adhering to professional management standards and the Executive Chef
  • Create and execute featured and seasonal menu items
  • Establish a cleaning schedule and ensure that it is consistently followed
  • Search for opportunities for improvement and best practices
  • Work with Executive Chef on a weekly schedule which effectively meets both business demands and financial budgets
  • Practice ServSafe food handling procedures and standards – training staff to also follow
  • Create a productive, developmental and pleasant work environment for all employees
