Job summary

Holiday by Atria - Kittery Estates is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our Dining Services team. You will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents, oversee kitchen operations, and ensure a safe, efficient service that meets our high standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, following recipes, maintaining sanitation, training staff, managing inventory, and assisting with payroll and ordering when needed.

Qualifications

• Effective communication in English and excellent customer service skills.
• Experience mentoring and directing others.
• Ability to prepare and follow recipes.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents and ensure safe kitchen operations.
• Review menus and recipes, ensure portion control and on-time service.
• Oversee cooking and service setup to deliver attractively plated meals.
• Maintain food safety, labeling, dating and storage procedures.
• Complete logs for refrigerators, freezers and production sheets.
• Oversee kitchen staff in absence of Executive Chef and support payroll/ordering if needed.
