Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club is seeking a Sous Chef for our Restaurant and Banquets. The Property

Recognized as one of the best public golf courses nationwide, Shepherd's Hollow offers a serene setting reminiscent of northern Michigan, providing a unique golfing experience. Our venue is committed to culinary excellence, featuring a low-country designed clubhouse and beautiful surroundings perfect for dining and special events.

Our glass banquet venue, The Station, has become a premier wedding destination in Metro Detroit, combining European architectural charm with unforgettable guest experiences and exceptional cuisine.

Who Are We Looking For?

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least two years of post-educational employment experience
  • Demonstrate a stable work history with appropriate career progression

Qualifications
  • Culinary Degree preferred
  • Experience in a la carte presentation and management highly desired
  • Banquet and hotel experience advantageous
  • Experience with advanced cooking techniques and equipment (e.g., Rationale ovens, sous vide)
  • Costing, menu management, and food cost experience
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, and POS systems
  • ServSafe Certification required
Duties
  • Assist in managing clubhouse and banquet kitchen operations
  • Maintain high standards of culinary excellence and service
  • Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed legal requirements
  • Support management in upholding business practices and promoting product and service quality
  • Oversee staff training and food quality standards
  • Manage food receiving, storage, preparation, and service
