Bon Appétit is hiring for a full-time Sous Chef at Tesla in Sunnyvale, CA. The role supports the Executive Chef, coordinates cooks and other kitchen staff, and assumes responsibility in the Executive Chef’s absence.

The ideal candidate has commissary experience, strong knowledge of recipes, food safety, and line execution. This position offers a fixed pay rate of $29.00 per hour, a full benefits package, and opportunities for growth within Bon Appétit.

Qualifications

• Previous commissary experience required.
• Capable of supervising hourly staff, scheduling, payroll, and training.
• Knowledge of food safety, portion control, and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and performance reviews.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; keeps workstation clean.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints; relays information to supervisor.
• Explains daily menu items accurately to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks production and waste; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
