Job summary

WellBridge of Grand Blanc is seeking a Sous Chef to join our award-winning dining team in Grand Blanc, MI. This role supports the Dietary Supervisor in planning and running the dietary department to deliver quality nutritional services in a healthcare setting.

You will lead, coach, and develop team members, ensure supplies, manage costs, and help maintain safety and sanitation standards. Starting wage is $23 per hour with wage increases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in a food service department.
• Experience in a long-term or health care facility preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietary Supervisor in planning and organizing the dietary department.
• Ensure quality nutritional services daily and maintain a clean, safe, sanitary kitchen.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the department budget.
• Order supplies and manage equipment with cost efficiency.

What you need to join our EPIC team:

• 3+ years of related experience in a food service department; experience in a long term or health care facility preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and all facility personnel.

How you will help people every day:

• Work with the dietitian to provide quality nutritional services.
• Ensure that appropriate levels of food supplies are available.
• Order supplies in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner, as needed.
• Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and, in conjunction with the Administrator, order replacement equipment, as necessary.
• Assist in developing & maintainingthe department budget.
