We are hiring immediately for a Sous Chef I position.

Job Summary

As a Sous Chef I, you will assist in the success of the food program and oversee culinary functions. Responsibilities include planning, ordering, inventory, and food prep, ensuring adherence to client culture, health regulations, and company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation. You will also motivate, train, develop, and direct back-of-house staff to meet operational objectives and satisfy customers, clients, and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist in preparing and cooking various food items.
  2. Help plan and create menus.
  3. Implement new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.
  4. Manage cost controls and expenditures.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of culinary experience, including 1 year in management.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food services.
  • Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, safety, cost controls, and presentation.
  • Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
  • Leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office and Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
