AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic and optimistic leader for the Sous Chef at Bryant University in Providence, RI.

Founded in 1960, AVI Foodsystems has become a respected food service provider known for high-quality ingredients, excellent service, and value.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare meals meeting specifications promptly.
  2. Measure ingredients and food portions accurately.
  3. Ensure staff compliance with standards, procedures, rules, and sanitation.
  4. Use kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers safely.
  5. Manage inventory, ensuring freshness and quality.
  6. Maintain proper food temperatures and storage.
  7. Keep workstations and equipment clean and sanitized.
  8. Handle kitchen opening, closing, and other duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
Job Requirements:
  1. Culinary degree preferred.
  2. Minimum two years in a culinary leadership role.
  3. Experience in high-volume catering is a plus.
  4. Strong relationship-building skills via active listening.
  5. Adaptability to changing conditions.
