Job Description for Sous Chef at LSU Alexandria

Location: LSU Alexandria

We are hiring immediately for full-time Sous Chef positions.

Pay Range: $14.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods. Coordinate activities of cooks and food-service associates. Take responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties:

  • Cook and prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  • Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  • Store food safely, following all sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstations.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally.
  • Understand and explain menu items.
  • Monitor inventory and supplies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
