Job Opportunity: Sous Chef at CulinArt Sector

We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position at Forman School, located at 12 Norfolk Road, P.O. Box 80, Litchfield, CT 06759. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday through Saturday. Hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Requirements: Prior culinary experience is preferred. Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available

Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in food preparation and cooking, coordinate with kitchen staff, and oversee operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, and training.
  3. Store food safely, adhering to sanitation procedures.
  4. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstations.
  6. Interact with customers to resolve complaints and relay information.
  7. Understand and explain menu items.
  8. Manage inventory and monitor supplies.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
