Job Summary

Join our culinary team at Emory University as a Sous Chef and play a pivotal role in shaping our food service operations. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef to supervise and enhance the preparation, flavor, and presentation of our food, innovate menus, and lead catering events. This position suits a dynamic chef who thrives in high-energy environments and is eager to drive culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage kitchen operations, including cost control and menu development.
  2. Design and implement daily and event-specific menus, ensuring high-quality culinary experiences.
  3. Lead and oversee catering events, ensuring seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  4. Innovate and implement new culinary programs in partnership with the marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. A.S. degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional kitchen management experience.
  2. Proven experience in high-volume, complex food service operations.
  3. Extensive knowledge of current food trends, sanitation regulations, cost controls, and presentation techniques.
  4. Experience in institutional and batch cooking will be an advantage.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and general internet use.
  6. ServSafe certification is preferred.
  7. Demonstrated ability to participate in and enhance client satisfaction programs.
