Job Overview
Oversees daily food production, sanitation, purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of food and supplies in compliance with purchasing agreements. Maintains high food quality, customer service excellence, cost control, and regulatory standard compliance in conjunction with the Executive Chef. Responsible for planning and overseeing food preparation in a kitchen.

Job Status: 40 hours per week, eligible for benefits
Shift: Days/Evenings. 5:30am - 2:00pm and 12:00pm - 8:30pm.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION – High School diploma or equivalent
- EXPERIENCE – One (1) year of related experience
- EQUIVALENCY – Three years of relevant work experience in lieu of High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
- No direct patient care
- Follow complex recipes for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, serving soups, meats, and vegetables
- Independently perform advanced cooking duties, may serve customers at a station in the café
- Assist leadership with creating and preparing specialty menu items
- Assist production team in daily tasks
- Train kitchen staff on preparation and presentation of dishes
- Structure daily food production operations and supervise staff
- Ensure proper stock rotation and storage of food items
- Follow recipes and HACCP guidelines for quality and safety
- Maintain proper staff uniform and hygiene standards
- Assist with pricing of menu items
- Share culinary trends and ideas for department growth

Complexity: Duties are generally complex and require coordination across multiple functions.

Supervision: Performs work with minimal oversight, with work reviewed for adherence to standards.
Physical Requirements
- Good color, depth, far, and near vision; good hearing
- Drive 2-4 hrs/day; stand/walk 6-8 hrs/day
- Frequent bending, carrying, climbing, crawling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, squatting/crouching
Work Environment
- Exposure to cold, heat, dampness; occasional heights
- Requires independent decision-making, working under pressure, managing stress, and effective teamwork
Salary & Benefits
- Hourly Range: $23.31 to $34.97
