Job summary

Base is America’s next-generation power company. The GSM Intern role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance, owning sourcing for assigned parts and running RFQs in a real program with measurable impact in build costs. You will engage suppliers directly and help shape cost, lead time, and terms.

This internship is hands-on, not shadowing. You will create supplier cost models, qualify new suppliers, track performance, and develop repeatable sourcing processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a quantitative field such as supply chain or engineering.
• Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills.
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
• Excellent written communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing for assigned parts and run RFQs.
• Negotiate price, terms, and lead time with suppliers.
• Build supplier cost models to evaluate quotes.
• Support qualification of new suppliers and second sources.
• Track supplier performance and flag risks early.
