Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Specialist for Mechanical Commodities at the Bastrop, TX site. You will manage procurements, forecast demand, and build a supplier network to support satellite and gateway production.

You will work with engineering and manufacturing to drive cost savings and reliable deliveries. The role emphasizes contract authoring with legal, supplier performance management, and on-site fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management, or engineering.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, WOs, and POs.
• Strong data analysis skills using Excel, SQL and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices for the assigned category.
• Forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals to adjust incoming material.
• Track high-risk components and supplier delivery performance.
• Communicate clearly to influence vendors and senior leadership.
• Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs and create sourcing strategies.
• Develop preferred supplier networks to minimize cost and lead time.
