Responsibilities

• Assist with contract negotiations, RFPs, and development/management of supplier agreements.
• Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings and strategic purchasing.
• Research market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and prepare reports to support sourcing decisions.
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with regulations, procurement policies, and internal procedures.
• Support implementation and use of electronic procurement systems and digital supplier catalogs.
• Collaborate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and maximize contract value.
• Analyze financial data using cost evaluation methods (TCO, lease-vs-buy, economic value).
• Track and report projected and realized savings across categories.

Hire Up Staffing is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist in Houston, TX! We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical professional to support strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives for a well-established organization in the healthcare and higher education sector. This individual will work closely with internal departments, suppliers, and key stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and improve purchasing strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Location: Houston, TX (Remote – Local Candidates Only)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: 30+ DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with contract negotiations, requests for proposals (RFPs), and the development and management of supplier agreements.
• Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings and strategic purchasing.
• Research market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and prepare reports and presentations to support sourcing decisions.
• Ensure all sourcing activities comply with applicable regulations, procurement policies, and internal procedures.
• Support the implementation and use of electronic procurement systems and digital supplier catalogs.
• Collaborate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and maximize contract value.
• Analyze financial data using cost evaluation methods, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), lease-versus-buy comparisons, and economic value models.
• Track, calculate, and report projected and realized savings across various spending categories.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Science, or a related field required.
• Advanced degree in Business, Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting, supply chain, or materials management.
• Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or academic environment is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, evaluate complex information, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and results.
