Job summary

Columbia Search Partners is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to own direct-material sourcing and cost reduction for fabricated metals, machined components, castings, electronics, and assemblies. Qualifications

• 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or commodity-management experience.
• Direct-material sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience sourcing fabricated metals, machining, castings, electronics, or assemblies.
• Proven negotiating and cost-savings track record.
• Experience managing RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing decisions.
• Strong supplier-management and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication strengths.
• Willingness to travel periodically to Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing and supplier management for fabricated metal parts, machined components, castings, electronics, and assemblies.
• Lead RFQ activity, analyze quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and support supplier awards.
• Develop, qualify, and evaluate suppliers to balance cost, quality, delivery, and capacity.
• Drive direct-material cost-reduction initiatives and identify additional sourcing opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to support production requirements.
• Support purchase-order execution and maintain sourcing documentation.
• Use data and supplier metrics to identify continuous-improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the development of sourcing processes and supplier strategies as the company scales.

Columbia Search Partners is supporting a rapidly growing global industrial manufacturer in the search for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to own direct-material sourcing and cost reduction across fabricated metals, machined components, castings, electronics, and assemblies.

This position will be based in the company's Atlanta-area office while supporting its manufacturing operation in Knoxville, Tennessee, with periodic travel to the Knoxville facility, typically every few weeks.

This is a hands‑on sourcing role for someone who can independently own supplier negotiations, RFQ‑to‑award activity, supplier performance, and measurable direct-material cost reduction from day one.

What You'll Do

• Own sourcing and supplier management for fabricated metal parts, machined components, castings, electronics, and assemblies
• Lead RFQ activity, analyze supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and support supplier awards
• Develop, qualify, and evaluate suppliers to achieve the right balance of cost, quality, delivery, and capacity
• Drive measurable direct-material cost‑reduction initiatives and identify additional sourcing opportunities
• Manage supplier relationships and performance throughout the procurement lifecycle
• Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to support production requirements and resolve supplier issues
• Support purchase‑order execution and maintain accurate sourcing and supplier documentation
• Use data and supplier performance metrics to identify continuous‑improvement opportunities
• Support the continued development of sourcing processes and supplier strategies as the organization scales

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or commodity‑management experience
• Direct-material sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience sourcing fabricated metals, machining, castings, assemblies, or similar industrial components strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success negotiating with suppliers and delivering measurable cost savings
• Experience managing RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing decisions
• Strong supplier‑management and relationship‑building skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Willingness to travel periodically to the Knoxville, TN manufacturing facility

Compensation

Base Salary: $70,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
