Job summary

Talon Hiring Solutions, partnering with a client in the greater Birmingham, AL area, is seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing Analyst to support procurement, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives.

Reporting to the Sourcing Supervisor, this individual will play a key role in evaluating suppliers, analyzing purchasing data, negotiating pricing, and identifying opportunities to improve sourcing strategies and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or supply chain.
• 1–3 years in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP/purchasing systems.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze purchasing data, supplier costs, and market trends to identify savings.
• Evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, reliability, and service; negotiate terms.
• Lead or assist sourcing initiatives, RFPs, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Maintain records on supplier performance, costs, deliveries, and activity.
• Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing procedures and bidding.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, quality, and finance to align sourcing with needs.
• Support new supplier and product onboarding and test monitoring.
• Provide purchasing support to maintain efficient procurement operations.
