Sofar Ocean is seeking a Sourcing Partner to lead talent identification in maritime and climate tech. You will engage top candidates, build lasting relationships, and partner with our People Team to align sourcing with needs.

We value a proactive, metrics-driven approach, with comfort in Boolean search, Ashby ATS, and multi-channel outreach. You will own the pipeline and help Sofar Ocean grow a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting.
• Experience sourcing for technical and industry-specialist roles.
• Ability to engage candidates through thoughtful outreach and build relationships.
• Familiarity with Boolean search and ATS tools.

Sofar Ocean builds the sensors and software that make the ocean measurable, from Spotter buoys tracking waves and weather to Wayfinder optimizing vessel routes. We're a lean, high-ownership team of about 100, and we need a sourcer who can find talent as precisely as our buoys find data.

About The Position

As a Sourcing Partner at Sofar Ocean, you will be at the forefront of our recruiting efforts, focusing on identifying, engaging, and building relationships with top-tier talent in the industry as it relates to maritime and climate tech. You will partner closely with our People Team and hiring managers to deeply understand our hiring needs and source candidates who will thrive in our fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Who You Are

• Experienced Sourcer: You have 6+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruiting, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Tech-Savvy: You possess a strong understanding of technical roles, skills, and the tech landscape, allowing you to effectively identify and assess top talent. You have a track record sourcing for technical and industry-specialist roles simultaneously
• Proactive Communicator: You excel at engaging candidates through thoughtful outreach and building long-term relationships with potential hires. You are curious and you love learning about people and how they can contribute to Sofar's overall mission.
• Results-Driven: You thrive in a metrics-driven environment and are motivated by the challenge of meeting and exceeding sourcing goals. You have a comfort with Boolean search, ATS tools (we use Ashby), and creative channels beyond LinkedIn
• Adaptable: You are comfortable navigating change and ambiguity in a growing company and are always looking for ways to improve and innovate your sourcing approach. You have a independent operator mindset, comfortable owning your pipeline with minimal hand-holding

Estimated Salary Range

Estimated Salary Range$120,000 - $150,000The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, and equity package.
