Job summary

Pelican Products, Inc. in Torrance, CA seeks a Manager of New Product Sourcing & Indirect Procurement to lead strategic sourcing across indirect categories, drive cost savings, and develop supplier partnerships from concept through commercialization.

You will lead a procurement team and partner with Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to meet cost targets and timelines. The role requires a track record of managing indirect spend, strong RFQ/RFP and negotiation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing Buyers or procurement professionals.
• Experience delivering measurable cost savings in indirect spend.
• Experience supporting new product sourcing from concept through commercialization.
• Experience with domestic and international suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Strong knowledge of RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, cost analysis, supplier qualification, and contracts.
• Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute indirect spend sourcing strategies (professional services, IT, Marketing, facilities, MRO, logistics).
• Lead cost savings, supplier consolidation, contract management, and spend analysis.
• Lead sourcing for new products from concept through commercialization and production.
• Coach Buyers and procurement team members with clear performance expectations.
• Establish procurement governance, procedures, and policy compliance.
• Develop and monitor procurement KPIs (savings, supplier performance, milestones).
• Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance on sourcing targets.
• Identify and qualify domestic and international suppliers and manufacturing partners.
