Job summary

Haskell is seeking a seasoned procurement leader for construction projects in Atlanta. You will drive subcontracting strategies, lead RFP/RFQ processes, and coordinate across estimating, engineering, and operations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 7+ years in procurement/estimation within AEC, strong negotiation skills, and Procore experience. Travel 15–30% is expected as projects proceed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, engineering, construction, estimating, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead subcontracting and/or sourcing efforts for assigned construction projects.
  • Develop procurement execution strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
  • Serve as primary supply chain point of contact for assigned projects.
  • Develop bid lists and sourcing strategies for subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier prequalification and risk evaluations.
  • Lead RFP/RFQ activities and commercial evaluations.
  • Prepare bid tabulations and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, POs, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Coordinate contract reviews with Legal and Operations.
  • Monitor procurement of long-lead materials and equipment.
  • Participate in project kickoff, procurement, and turnover meetings.
  • Coordinate with Estimating, Preconstruction, Engineering, Operations, and Project Management.
  • Develop strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Mentor Supply Chain Specialists.
  • Maintain procurement reporting, trackers, and templates.
  • Drive cost savings, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Compliance With Company Policies And Client Requirements.
  • Travel approximately 15% - 30%.

To Thrive In This Role, You’ll Need:
  • Strong knowledge of construction procurement and subcontract buyout.
  • Procore Experience Preferred
  • Understanding of contracts, bonds, insurance, logistics, and freight.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Experience preparing bid tabulations and commercial evaluations.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • SPSM, CPSM, CPPP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Previous Experience In The AEC Industry Preferred.

Environmental Factors And/or Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
