Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking an Individual Contributor to join the BSA - Procurement team.

The role focuses on indirect and direct sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, and contract administration. You will manage supplier relationships, monitor market dynamics, and collaborate with internal clients to meet material and service needs while balancing risk and value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years related experience, or advanced degree with relevant experience.
• Experience in procurement or supply chain roles.

Responsibilities

• Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with sourcing projects.
• Applies research to planning and execution of procurement initiatives.
• Supports supplier selection, pricing, terms, and contract administration.
• Monitors supplier performance and manages relationships within internal client teams.

Position Summary

• Accountable for obtaining goods / services required by the organization including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.) and Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)

• Manages or performs strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value/resilience of materials/services sourcing including:
  • Establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs.
  • Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients.
  • Monitors market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
  • Partners with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.

Responsibilities

• Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals.
• Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects.
• Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
