Hexion is seeking a Sourcing Manager to oversee North American Bulk Truck Logistics with responsibility for up to $90MM in annual spend. The role requires developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with top suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining supply security.

Deep category expertise and strong communication with leaders and internal customers are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business.
• 7+ years relevant commercial or procurement experience.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with attention to detail.
• Experience with liquid bulk and/or chemical shipping requirements.
• Knowledge of technologies related to process analysis, supply chain optimization, procurement, and AI/resource planning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a matrix or multi-site organization.

Position Overview

The company is searching for a Sourcing Manager to manage North American Bulk Truck Logistics.

The individual is responsible for up to $90MM in annual spend and will play a leading role in the development, negotiation, and implementation of strategic sourcing plans. Hexion is a top-tier NA buyer of Logistics in this portfolio.

Additionally, the Sourcing Manager will work with some of Hexion’s largest and most visible logistic suppliers, will be a crucial communicator to both leaders and internal customers, and will see immediate business impact from their actions.

Deep category expertise, agility and effective relationship management with suppliers and internal customers are critical functions of this role.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plans and document data-based strategic logistics strategies using a multitude of procurement processes.
• Strategically source Bulk Truck logistics for 15 sites in Hexion’s NA portfolio.
• Negotiate in a timely manner all aspects of supply contracts including pricing, payment terms, and volumes, to guarantee security of supply, minimize working capital, drive productivity, reduce costs and ensure quality in accordance with business requirements.
• The market expert; build strong relationships for assigned categories to drive value and manage internal and external communications.
• Leverage and collaborate with the global procurement team to share best practices and drive innovation.
• Drive deep engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate and assist in the development of price forecasts and budgets

Contract Writing:

• Consistently executes contracts and aligns contracting intent with stakeholders
• Creatively adjusts clauses to benefit the company
• Mentors, consults and engages with others on various levels of contracts and demonstrate commercial diligence

Negotiation Skills:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) both internally and externally
• Ability to successfully complete large negotiations/projects
• Able to adapt negotiation strategy as needed and to have difficult conversations in a productive manner.
• Supports and coaches others in their negotiations
• Expert / resource not only on category set, but negotiations in general
• Strong Supplier Relationship Management / Partnership with supplier and ability to fully leverage relationship with supplier
• Effectively uses procurement management within multi-level supplier relationships

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

• Expert for a commodity to internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to utilize market knowledge to anticipate impact in the market and other commodities.
• Skillful in converting market insights to strategy, delivering both short and long-term value.
• Market insights are proactively shared with peers or business teams and fully integrated into strategies
• Serves as role model and mentor to others in use and application of procurement processes and business services or as leader of procurement process
• Perceived as an innovative leader in development/improvement of procurement processes. Creates value through processes

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business

Experience, skills and knowledge:

• 7+ years relevant commercial or procurement experience
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with attention to detail
• Experience with liquid bulk and/or chemical shipping requirements
• Knowledge of current technologies related to process analysis, supply chain optimization, procurement, and a healthy knowledge of AI and resource planning
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience working in a matrix or multi-site organization
