Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Sourcing Lead for Service Parts to develop and execute sourcing strategies that ensure availability of service parts and customer satisfaction.

You will partner with Product Development, Engineering, and Quality to drive performance across delivery, cost, and service objectives. The role requires managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and leading sourcing projects.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Sourcing Lead for Service Parts, develops and executes sourcing strategies that support post‑sales customer demand and the availability of service parts. Partnering with Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Inventory Planning, production sourcing teams, and suppliers, this role drives performance across delivery, quality, cost, and customer service objectives. You will evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate commercial terms, mitigate supply risks, and lead sourcing initiatives that strengthen profitability and operational efficiency. This position offers ownership of supplier relationships and sourcing projects that directly affect backorders, supply chain resiliency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and multi-year commodity strategies based on internal customer needs, purchasing objectives, supply risks, growth plans, and broader supply chain priorities.
• Manage existing supplier relationships and establish new relationships to maintain effective communication, alignment, and sufficient capacity for Polaris volume expectations.
• Monitor and drive supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service requirements, proactively communicating supplier risks and improvement opportunities to internal stakeholders.
• Lead sourcing projects, quoting events, supplier evaluations, and supplier selection recommendations in alignment with defined commodity strategies.
• Evaluate, establish, and negotiate supplier contracts, long‑term agreements, and other commercial commitments that support long‑term cost savings and departmental goals.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives, supplier transitions, tooling transitions, tariff‑mitigation opportunities, and other projects that improve regional spend and supply chain resiliency.
• Apply fact‑based negotiation, should‑cost modeling, competitive market analysis, cost analysis, and commodity market data to support sourcing decisions and financial performance.
• Manage the cost, schedule, technical requirements, and drawing‑release status of assigned projects, leading corrective actions when performance does not meet expectations.
• Partner with suppliers, Supplier Quality, and cross‑functional teams to determine root causes, implement containment and countermeasures, and ensure timely and adequate corrective action plans.
• Resolve part shortages, delivery concerns, pricing issues, and invoice discrepancies while supporting ongoing segmentation of the PG&A supplier base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical area.
• Minimum of 2 years of sourcing or related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of supply contracts involving domestic and international suppliers.
• Advanced knowledge of commodity markets, including the ability to analyze data and develop sourcing strategies.
• Functional knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process controls, and technical data.
• Proficiency with project management tools and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, budgets, and stakeholders with minimal guidance.
• Strong written, verbal, cross‑functional, and supplier communication skills, including presentation development and delivery to operations leadership.
• Fundamental knowledge of MAPICS MRP and web‑based business systems is desired; Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office environment with at least three days per week in the office.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to PG&A warehouses, suppliers, and dealers.
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $75,000 to $99,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
