Job summary

GMI Cloud in the United States seeks a Sourcing Director to lead the company’s AI networking hardware strategy. You will negotiate with Tier-1 OEMs and ODMs, shape the supply chain, and secure essential switches, routers, optics, and cabling to support rapid AI deployments.

This leadership role requires 10+ years in strategic sourcing, deep relationships in global markets, and a track record of delivering resilient, cost-effective solutions while maintaining ultra-low latency performance for AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain Management.
• 5+ years focused on Networking Infrastructure, Data Centers, or Telecommunications.
• Deep relationships within Taiwan/global networking supply chain (ODMs, OEMs).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; MBA is a plus.

The Role

This is not a traditional procurement role. At GMI Cloud, sourcing is a competitive weapon. As the Sourcing Director, you will navigate the complex global supply chain for AI-grade networking infrastructure, negotiating directly with Tier-1 OEMs, ODMs, and specialized component suppliers. You will be expected to out-maneuver the competition to secure mission-critical networking switches, high-performance routers, optical transceivers, and advanced cabling solutions while building an agile, resilient supply chain that can keep pace with the speed of AI networking demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Networking & Hardware Sourcing: Design and execute high-stakes sourcing strategies for critical AI networking assets, including InfiniBand and RoCE-enabled switches, high-bandwidth NICs (Network Interface Cards), and high-density optical interconnects.
• High-Leverage Negotiation: Lead end-to-end negotiations with global networking suppliers to secure best-in-class pricing, priority allocation, and favorable terms. You are expected to challenge the status quo and drive maximum value for GMI.
• Networking ODM/OEM Management: Leverage Taiwan’s unique ecosystem by managing relationships with key networking manufacturing partners, ensuring visibility into production cycles for switches and routers while mitigating supply chain bottlenecks.
• Supply Chain Resilience: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to geopolitical shifts, lead-time fluctuations for specialized networking chipsets, and market shortages in optical components.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Optimization: Work closely with Finance and Engineering to optimize the unit economics of our network fabric deployments without compromising on ultra-low latency performance.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the bridge between technical network engineering requirements and commercial execution, ensuring our fabric roadmap is supported by a robust supply base.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain Management, with at least 5 years focused on Networking Infrastructure, Data Centers, or Telecommunications industries.
• Industry Network: Deep, existing relationships within the Taiwan/Global networking supply chain (ODMs like Accton/Edgecore, Celestica, Delta, Foxconn, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of data center network architectures (Spine-Leaf), high-speed interconnect protocols (InfiniBand/RoCE), and the hardware components of a modern AI network fabric.
• Negotiation Prowess: A proven track record of "fierce" negotiation—you know how to push back, create leverage, and close complex networking equipment deals under tight deadlines.
• Analytical Depth: Ability to analyze market trends (e.g., optical component pricing, switch silicon wafer capacity) and translate them into actionable sourcing pivots.
• Growth Mindset: A "get-it-done" attitude. You thrive in the ambiguity of a startup but execute with the precision of a global leader.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; MBA or advanced technical degree in Networking or Electrical Engineering is a plus.
• End-to-End Program Management: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs from concept to delivery, ensuring milestones, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies are met.
